For Whom the Bay Tolls
Friday night we hit Thee Parkside to catch Witchaven and celebrate 30 years of Metallica.
Witchaven is a black/thrash metal band from Hesperia whose big track “Black Thrash Assault” came out in 2007. Serg hipped me to them (“these Mexican dudes who thrash hella hard”) and several other new thrash bands, and my old love of thrash was reawakened. We’d seen them at the Parkside a couple of years ago. (That time I was knocked over and spilled a beer right into my new purse.)
All the bands were great — Tinnitus, Midnight Chaser and Exmortus. And DJ Rob Metal spun Metallica and more between sets.
